Swanson Ultra High Potency L-Glutathione 200 mg / 60 Veg Caps เป็น Antioxidant ตัวหนึ่งที่ร่างกายสังเคราะห์ได้เองเรียกว่า Universal Antioxidant กลูต้าไธโอน จะถูกเปลี่ยนไปเป็นเอนไซม์ Glutathione Peroxidase มีคุณสมบัติเป็นสาร Antioxidant ที่สำคัญของร่างกาย ช่วยลดความเสื่อมของเซลล์ในร่างกาย กลูตาไธโอน ช่วยสร้างเอนไซม์ชนิดต่างๆในร่างกาย โดยเฉพาะ Glutathione-S-transferase ที่ตับ ช่วยในการกำจัดสารพิษออกจากร่างกายโดย ไปเปลี่ยนสารพิษ ชนิดไม่ละลายน้ำ(ละลายในน้ำมัน) เช่น พวกโลหะหนัก สารระเหย ยาฆ่าแมลง นอกจากนี้ยังช่วยป้องกันตับจากการถูกทำลายโดยแอลกอฮอล์และยากลูตาไธโอนจะส่ง ผลในการเพิ่มความสามารถในการกำจัดสิ่งแปลกปลอมและเชื้อโรคของเม็ดเลือด ขาว ชนิด Neutrophils และยังเพิ่มความสามารถในการทำงานของ เซลล์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับระบบภูมิต้านทานของร่างกายด้วยทำให้ร่างกายมีภูมิคุ้ม กันเพิ่มมากขึ้น รังสี UV-A และ UV-B ในแสงแดดเป็นตัวกระตุ้นการสร้างเม็ดสีเมลานินและอนุมูลอิสระ ทำลายเซลล์ผิว ทำให้ผิวหมองคล้ำ เกิดจุดด่างดำและเกิดฝ้า L-Glutathione มีคุณสมบัติช่วยในการต่อต้านกลไกของอนุมูลอิสระ ที่ทำให้เกิด Lipid peroxide ซึ่งเป็นต้นเหตุของการเกิดฝ้า ทำงานได้ดีร่วมกับ วิตามินซี และ Antioxidant ตัวอื่น ในด้านการทำให้การผลิตเม็ดสีน้อยลงกลไกการทำงานการได้รับ L-Glutathione จะเข้าไปยับยั้งการทำงานของ Tyrosinase ทำให้ Tyrosinase ไม่สามารถเปลี่ยนไปเป็น Eumelanin ซึ่งมีสีคล้ำ ผิวจะค่อยๆจางลง เมื่อเกิดการผลัดผิวโดย Tyrosinase จะถูกขบวนการสังเคราะห์ Phaeomelanin แทน ซึ่งเป็นเม็ดสีที่ไม่มีสีแทน
